Multiple casitas at a north Scottsdale resort were evacuated for hours after a gas leak early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters and Southwest Gas crews were called to the reported natural gas leak at Boulders Resort and Spa Scottsdale, near Carefree Highway and Scottsdale Road, just after 4 a.m.
When they got to the resort, first responders found the gas leak affecting 12 casitas, which were all evacuated as a precaution, according to Scottsdale Fire. It’s unclear how many people were affected.
Scottsdale FD Capt. Dave Folio says Southwest Gas crews secured the leak around 8 a.m.
